The direction of the sectors mentioned as follows refers to that for the entire house as well as that for each respective room. For example, the mentioned’ South East sector’ refers to the South East sector of the entire house and also the South East sector of each room.

Five element Table

Metal : White color, round shape, metallic display, metallic sound(wind chimes)

Wood : Green color, long and vertical objects, plant with leaves and stem, timber wind chime

Water : Blue, Black colors, curve object, container with non moving water, water feature, fish tank

Fire : Red, Pink, Violet colors, triangular shape, lighting, electrical appliances, burning candle

Earth : Yellow, Brown colors, Square or Rectangle shape, porcelain objects, soil

East sector: In this sector, the energy will result in the undermining of the decision makers’ authority. Children may tend to be more rebellious. The way to cure it is to put two porcelain objects in this sector. Minimize the use of Metal, Wood and Fire elements.

South East sector: Keep this sector clean and tidy to avoid scandal or negative “peach blossom”. Some blue and Black color scheme is favorable.

South Sector: There are “dispute and lawsuit” energy in this sector, place red color objects (e.g a piece of red floor mat) to cure it. A little blue or black color scheme is also necessary. Avoid Metal, Wood and Water elements.

South West sector: Although it is an inauspicious sector this year, this month is relatively alright. Place a few metallic objects or ornaments here. Keep this sector quiet, clean and tidy. No renovation internally and externally of the house in this sector throughout the year; as negative “Sui Po” energy resides here. Avoid Wood, Water, Fire and Earth elements.

West sector: If the external environment is clean and presentable, it is alright to open window here to receive favorable “academic and fame” energy. The energy is maximized if the external view is a patch or low land followed by tall building. Keep this sector clean and tidy. Some blue and black color scheme is favorable here. Avoid Metal and Earth elements.

North West sector: The overall interaction between year and month’s energies is auspicious. However the actual effect depends on individual house chart’s energy at this sector. If the original house chart’s energy at this sector is bad, it can become worse. To be conservative, it is better not to place fish tank and water feature here. Keep this sector quiet. The color scheme here should be balanced and not to emphasize on any colors in the 5 elements.

North Sector: No renovation internally and externally at this sector as the negative year and month’s “3 killings” resides here. If there is construction work done externally at this sector, keep the windows closed and covered with curtains. More of blue and black color scheme is favorable. Avoid Metal, Wood and Earth elements.

North East sector: There should be no renovation in this sector because negative “Tai Sui” energy resides here. Keep this sector quiet and minimize electrical appliance usage here. Do not place fish tanks or water features here. If there are widows, do not open it widely. Place more metallic objects here and minimize Wood, fire and Earth elements.

Central sector: Keep this sector clean and tidy to boost wealth energy. Avoid excessive Wood, Metal, Fire and Earth energy.

For houses that have undergone “major renovation” or new house constructed (TOP) from 4 Feb 2004 onwards, the various sectors’ good and bad effects would be further reinforced due to the overlapping of the same period 8 base star and the year star energies.

Please take note that the above advice only considers the year and month energies. It only tells part of the truth as the house energy chart and environmental factors are not incorporated for complete analysis. The above mentioned effects can be strengthened or undermined due to many factors.

Five element Table

Metal : White color, round shape, metallic display, metallic sound(wind chimes)

Wood : Green color, long and vertical objects, plant with leaves and stem, timber wind chime

Water : Blue, Black colors, curve object, container with non moving water, water feature, fish tank

Fire : Red, Pink, Violet colors, triangular shape, lighting, electrical appliances, burning candle

Earth : Yellow, Brown colors, Square or Rectangle shape, porcelain objects, soil

East sector: Keep this sector clean and tidy to avoid ‘peach blossom’ problem. You can have some blue or black colour scheme to cure some potential dispute energy. There are also some potential for some small wealth and fame energy in this month. Minimize Wood, Metal, Fire and Earth elements. If the person staying at this sector or having East room door gets into ‘peach blossom’ problem, use Earth element for cure, for example, place a bigger porcelain object. Do not renovate or shift big furniture at this sector as negative year and month ‘San Sha’ energies both reside at this sector.

South East sector: Illness month star comes to this sector. Be careful of stomach problem. However, there is some positive wealth effect in this month. Keep this sector clean and tidy. Have one or two small metallic ornaments to cure the bad energy. Minimize Wood, Fire and Earth elements.

South Sector : Prone to some surgical injury , blood circulation problem, respiratory issue and dispute energy . Place some blue colour scheme (e.g .blue poster, floor mat) or small blue container with still water to mediate the conflicting energies. Minimize Metal, Wood elements.

South West sector: Prone to lower the authoritative power of the decision maker operating in this sector and children may be more rebellious. May induce head, heart or eye problems. Place some porcelain objects or yellow, brown colour scheme to cure. Minimize Fire, Metal, Wood elements. Do not renovate at this Sector and shift big furniture as year ‘Sui Puo’ resides at this sector.

West sector: Bad year star 2 and month star 5 meet at this sector which will affect health and wealth. Keep this sector quiet, clean and tidy, free of bad smell. Place metallic ornaments to cure. Minimize Wood , Earth and Fire elements. Do not open window widely at this sector.

North West sector: Wholesome academic energy and fame energy reside. Keep this sector clean and tidy to avoid negative ‘scandal’ effect. Can use a small blue container with one fish, or simply having some blue colour scheme, with four vertically placed wooden calligraphy pens to boost the wholesome effect. Minimize Metal and Earth elements.

North Sector : Good month star 8 for health and wealth flies to this sector meeting the bad year star 5. Situation will improve and star 8 will help to suppress the star 5 to a certain extent. Keep this sector quiet, clean and tidy. You can place a few metallic ornaments to cure the bad energy and a piece of normal size of yellow, brown carpet, or a nice porcelain object to boost good energy. Minimize Wood and Fire elements.

North East sector : Prone to some surgical injury, leg, liver and head problems, and dispute energy. Place little blue colour scheme and a little more of red colour scheme. Minimize Metal, Wood elements. A little Earth element will help. Do not renovate at this Sector and shift big furniture as year Tai Sui resides at this sector.

Central sector : Keep this sector clear, clean and tidy. The month dispute energy can be neutralized by the year Fire energy. A little of red colour scheme is sufficient. Minimize Wood, Metal and Water elements.

Please take note that the above advice only considers the year and month energies. It only tells part of the truth as the house energy chart and environmental factors are not incorporated for complete analysis. The above mentioned effects can be strengthened or undermined due to many factors.

Our bed is one place where we spend much time on. Therefore it is an important piece of furniture in bed room Feng Shui. The head or side of the bed should rest firmly on a wall while the rear end of the bed should have a clear space and kept tidy and clean. This will affect the accumulation of wealth. It is also important not to have beams over the bed. It will create unnecessary stress and worries for people sleeping in such a bed.

Earlier we mentioned in an article regarding mirrors, if you have mirrors in front of your bed, very likely you and your spouse will argue often. It is also very likely that you will feel tired sleeping with a mirror facing you. The most inappropriate location of placing mirror is at the tailboard end of the bed directly facing the leg and head. Besides, it will make our energy and luck cycle unstable.

Care should be taken that the bed, especially the headboard, should not be too close to sources of strong electro-magnetic waves.

The location and the direction of the bed are crucial and are to be assessed with the birth data of the occupants and together with the energy at that sector.

In a bedroom, it is strongly advisable to close the toilet door to avoid the negative energy in the toilet, at certain timeframe, to disturb the room.

Care must be taken to treat the room’s door energy which will have a great influence on the room’s occupants.

The locations of the aircon, fan, and television are to be located at the auspicious sectors of the room. As such gadgets are usually operated over long hours in the rooms; the energies activated by them will be significant after a period of time. We would rather use them to activate the auspicious health/Wealth energies.

In a bedroom, green color schemes must be used carefully. If used at the wrong place or wrong time, it may bring unwholesome effect to the mental aspect and feet. There are cases whereby the occupant’s leg, feet problems are relieved after removing the plants or the inappropriate green color scheme used in the house.

It is also unfavorable to have hang-down lighting from the ceiling pointing at any part of our body. This lighting, when coupled with some negative energy at certain times, may cause health problem to the part of the body where the lighting is pointed to. The color of the lighting is important too for health issue. Sometimes, lightings with red color can be used to boost romance or induce positive effect to a pregnant woman. Sometime, white lighting is preferred to remedy illness issues.

Most people aim to upgrade their homes to a bigger and better place. However, they may not be aware that a bigger house may not be the best option. If the place is big but the number of people staying there is few, it will not be auspicious. On the other hand, if the place is small and the number of people staying there is overwhelming, it is also not auspicious too.

Given a choice, a house crowded with occupants is still better than a big house with few occupants. A big house with few occupants will carry stagnant energy and prosperity will decline year after year. In such a case, one effective way is to keep dogs (if you are a dog lover) to boost the stagnant energy. The ‘Geng’ Gua of dog is well matched to Period 8’s ‘Geng’ Gua.

Many people upgrade because they are doing well, but many people do not realize they are doing well because their current houses have good Feng Shui. When they shift into a new place, it may not have the same good Feng Shui. There are cases where once after upgraded to a new, bigger place, they suffer in terms of wealth and health issues.

In any way, it is always prudent and beneficial to understand the quality of the house’s energy and the favorable duration of stay in that house for well being before committed to buy the house.

To move to an upgraded housing, it will be useful to be aware of one’s luck cycle ahead. If one’s luck cycle is not favorable, it will be advisable to conduct Feng Shui audit even before buying the house. It is inclined that if a person’s luck cycle ahead is inauspicious, the person is more prone to be attracted by houses that have more Feng Shui flaws and therefore will need guidance to choose a better house.

Here is an example of a layout of an apartment or flat where you will find an alignment of front door/window with back door/window. There are many books mentioning that if a house has such a layout, people residing in the house may have difficulties accumulating wealth.

This is only half true; it is true if the path of the window and door’s alignment happens to pass through any of the wealth sectors of the house. If it does, the wealth energy is dissipated quickly and therefore difficult to accumulate. Using partitions can help to minimize it.

On the other hand, if the path of the window and door alignment happens to pass through the bad sectors of the house, it is good, as the bad energy, with some good measures, will be dissipated quickly and will have less effect on the people residing in the house. In this case, if partitions are used, bad energy will linger.

Even if the door and window do not carry wealth energies, there will be a time frame, for example, a particular year, whereby wealth energy is residing at this door/window. Then, the wealth energy will leak through these aligned openings.

Before any remedy is to be done, it is important to identify the type of energy involved and not to follow recommendations blindly.

It is not uncommon to have house or office with a central walk path splitting them into half. This layout is prone to beget dispute. The negative effect is more pronounced if the energies of the walk path are unfavorable or when negative energies reside at the pathway at certain time frames. Detouring of walk path is one effective way to remedy such unfavorable form.

I have always been a believer in Feng Shui since I came to know of its existence. But what I lack is someone who is truly authentic in the practice of it to help others with it. That is why I was reluctant to just engage ‘anyone’ who claims to be a Feng Shui master. Do they really know his ’stuff’? That knot in my heart is finally opened when I came to know Dave, the Feng Shui master . We met in a social networking session and immediately he strikes to me as someone who is super passionate and loves what he’s doing. He was sharing so much ‘tips’ on Feng Shui that I was surprised that he’s doing it for free. That’s where I decided to engage his service for my 4rm HDB room. He did a thorough audit and advised me on the appropriate change to my room layout which I followed to the dot. Believe it or not, ‘things’ really change. My family and my life just gets better, I am also glad to say I have a few occasions of luck with ‘4D’.
